As of August 2024, more than 230 million copies of the collected volumes of all of Rumiko Takahashi's manga were in circulation globally, according to a report released on Wednesday by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions.
The total number of copies reached 200 million in 2017, according to information found in the 35th volume of Takahashi's manga series RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne).
An updated anime version of the Ranma 1/2 manga aired on the NTV channel on October 5 at 24:55 JST (really, October 6 at 12:55 a.m. JST). Netflix is the only place where you can see the anime after it airs.
Manga author Rumiko Takahashi was awarded the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) decoration by the French government in April 2023.
Among the manga that Takahashi has created since her debut in 1978 are Ranma 1/2, One-Pound Gospel, Rumic Theater, Mermaid Saga, Urusei Yatsura, and Inuyasha. Throughout her more than 40-year career, several of her works have garnered international recognition and served as the inspiration for live-action and anime adaptations.
In 2021, Takahashi was admitted to the Harvey Awards' Hall of Fame. In 2018, she was similarly inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Will Eisner Comic Awards.
